![]() “Awash in blood and delusion, they bear the burden of a thousand lifetimes.” The DLC is designed to be played alongside an existing campaign, or as a brand new one-your choice! The events and features will unlock over the course of play. The narrative grounding sheds some light on the Ancestor’s early days, and will be presented in the same style of cut-scenes you’ve seen elsewhere in the game. ![]() Crimson Court is a parallel campaign experienced alongside the main Darkest Dungeon content that will provide you with new challenges and variation at every difficulty level. Rather more and new ideas of the same pool of genious.Darkest Dungeon®: The Crimson Court is the first expansion for the award-winning grim and gothic RPG by Red Hook Studios. And this one doesn't stands out from the base game, but gets properly integrated within, it's the same high quality, while not something completely different. ![]() And if the game is quite perfect, the best thing that can ever happen to it is to recieve expansions - in these cases, that's even better than having a sequel. I find the Crimson Court to be a perfect example of a proper expansion on an already wondorous game. Grow to like the Curse as well, the trinkets associated with it are actually useful, so having infected heroes are not a burden to the player and some classes are downright enchanced with this state. And the fact that they did not just add the vampirism on it's own, but combined it with the idea of these insect-like bloodsuckers is pure genius and a nice fitting addition to the DD bestiary. It fits perfectly together with the original content. Have to say, I love the Crimson Court DLC. So far, I only have first-hand experience with CC. Want to have a decent playthrough with only the Crimson Court in focus with the base game, then the same with CoM only. I'm near 900 hours in this game, got it in it's EA state before the Cove was added - still CoM is ahead of me.
